I’ve been on the front lines of California divorce law and technology since June 1981. A UK-trained barrister called to the Bar of England and Wales at age 21 (the youngest possible age), I wrote the world’s first divorce software package (for California) in 1983, pioneered divorce by mail in California during the 1980's-1990's and launched the world’s first divorce website at divorceweb.com in March,1999.

I own and operate the nationwide 1-800-DIVORCE network of independent family lawyers. In 2019, I founded Online Divorce Lawyer specifically to give ethical, business-savvy California family lawyers powerful, easy-to-use, white-label tools and a business model to compete with — and beat — the unqualified, incompetent, fraudulent, out-of-state online divorce mills; the aggressively up-selling non-lawyer Legal Document Assistants fronted by hotshot-Hollywood lawyers; and the dishonest, fear-mongering, one-retainer-fits-all traditional divorce lawyers. In 2025, I added Online Prenup Lawyer and in mid-2026, AI-powered Divorce Mediation Lawyer was added to the platform.
